I don't think of myself as a particularly great photographer. Any photos I have that may capture your attention are most likely a product of me being in the right place at the right time. It's hard to mess up taking a picture of something God has so carefully and majestically crafted. We just happen to snap the button at the right time.
So maybe my thought in starting this blog is to post a few interesting pictures I've taken over the years that capture "place", or maybe just some great scenery that I come across. Maybe there will be a story to accompany or a thought that seems to keep bugging me at the time. Maybe just a caption. Either way, I hope you might find a photo or two you enjoy.
To start off, I've picked a few of my favorites from over the years.
October 1, 2012 - Fallbodensee - a small lake right below the peak of Mount Eiger in the Bernese Alps, Switzerland
September 30, 2012 - the sun setting on mighty Jungfrau, in Switzerland
The picture below is probably what got me so interested in trying to take great photographs. This was taken in one of my favorite places on Earth, Cinque Terre, Italy (specifically the town of Corniglia, overlooking the Mediterranean). One of the most peaceful and beautiful places I've ever visited - the kind where shop owners are singing what sounds like an Italian opera as they sweep the area in front of their store entrances before opening in the morning. This photo really captures the essence of Cinque Terre for me.
Taken in May 2007 - Corniglia, Italy
October 2012 - Sunrise at Max Patch, North Carolina
July 2011 - Big Sur, California wildflowers and the Pacific
July 2006 - sun setting on the Grand Tetons, Wyoming
I have many more photos I love to revisit, but I will do my best to refrain from excessive posting of pictures. Enjoy.
