Themes - Candid Shots

Another pattern I've noticed in my photos is taking shots of people (mostly my siblings) when they're not expecting it.

This first one is a picture of one of my sisters overlooking the South Bay, near San Francisco, from Baker Beach. I don't think she had any idea I was taking this picture.

Later on that same trip, she decided to take a brief nap on a cliffside in Big Sur, California.

This is of my other sister. Caught overlooking the Pacific from a rock cliff in Big Sur, California.

My brother and I took a 3 week roadtrip in the summer of 2007 and visited several national parks and other sites in Colorado, Utah, and Arizona. This is one of him sitting in an arch in Arches National Park, about to solve the issue of world peace. I'll never forget this, because the other side of this arch overlooked about a 200 foot dropoff to a car pullover viewpoint. Multiple people yelled up to him "how'd you get up there??", wishing to get to such a cool hangout spot...he never told any of them it was about a five minute walk from our campsite.

This one was taken from the top of Mount LeConte. More deep thoughts from my wise sister...

On the same Leconte trip, bro pondering the world below.

Apparently, my sister and I have done a lot of hiking together. This was taken while descending from Cloud's Rest, in Yosemite National Park.

I think the Dutch paparazzi caught me trying on a pair of traditional Dutch shoes when I visited in 2007.

Just standing guard at Schonbrunn Palace in Vienna, Austria:

The picture below was taken at a cabin on the Cumberland Plateau with some good friends in the fall of 2012. I was messing around with the focus and aperture settings, and ended up liking how the Tennessee cooler turned out. If only I was as pleased with our football team...
